Palmyra High School Grandstand

Palmyra High School Grandstand

Project History

Nestled in Burlington County, New Jersey, Palmyra High School Grandstand was in drastic need of repair. Rainwater infiltration, exposure to the elements, and sealant failure caused severe spalling of the large cast-in-place concrete grandstand. Conproco products and systems were specified due to a successful restoration of another grandstand.
On the soffit, concrete repairs were performed by hand patching with Conpro Set over rebar treated with ECB. For protection and visual appeal, the base materials were covered with two applications of Conpro Color Coat. On the deck, surface preparation of the treads and risers by ultra-high-pressure water blasting removed the failed coating. Conpro One Shot 2C was used to refinish the traffic bearing surfaces. Once cured, the treads and risers were protected with Elastideck and Super Color Stain HR. Conpro Primer was used as a bonding agent for new cast-in-place stairways. In addition, the bleachers were reinstalled, and new handrails and perimeter fencing added.
