Hookway Fields
Project History
The Hookway Fields have been used for Syracuse University Athletics and Recreational Services for about 50 years. The project was specified for two types of exterior wall systems, Impact CM and Impact RM. Impact CM is directly applied to the CMU and Impact RM (Reinforcing Metal) is a wall system that is mechanically fastened to the wood with metal lath. Trim accessories were used for all joint details.
This was especially important between the transitional joint between the different systems. The lower portion of the building was a block substrate; so Structural Skin (with K-88 Admix) was applied directly. The upper portion was a wood substrate and required a building wrap with metal lath prior to the base coat. After the base coat was applied at a thickness of 3/16 inches, white Conpro Stucco (with K-88 Admix) was applied at 1/8 inches thick. Once the stucco had cured, one coat of Super Color Stain VO was applied to insure the buildings had a consistent color.
