In 2014, Boston Scientific relocated to a newly constructed building on their Marlborough campus. The exterior featured precast panels with bands of exposed colored aggregate. Three pre-existing precast building facades had to be refaced to match the new building. All parties worked in conjunction to identify a system that would be economical, feasible and visually pleasing. After pressure washing, strips of PVC were used as screed rails to create faux panels. Structural Skin with K-88 Admix was spray applied in a single half inch pass. Conpro Lastic elastomeric coating accommodated any future shrinkage cracks while waterproofing. Color Coat, acrylic paint, was applied over Conpro Lastic as a faux finish to simulate aggregate texture.
