American Financial Garage

Project History
The American Financial Realty Center was built in 1930 as part of the Strawbridge and Clothier department store chain. The complex is currently home to various specialty shops, offices and an upscale chain restaurant. It also includes the headquarters of American Financial Realty. The property consists of a main building and a two-level parking garage. The project was divided into four phases and was begun in 2004. Phases I and II focused on foundation waterproofing, and repair and waterproofing of half the structural deck and its expansion joint. Phase III restoration began on the second half of the deck, including the curving front wall of the garage. ECB was used as a bonding primer for rebar, while Conpro Set was used as a repair mortar. The ability to overbuild and shave Conpro Set made it especially useful for repairs to many outside corners, as well as the decorative “V” grooves originally cast into the concrete facade. Conpro Lastic, in a smooth finish, was used to coat and provide water repellency.
